Things which I enjoy looking at on the street!（町のお気に入り）

 

To be honest, I have never been fascinated by trees in Japan, but since I came to Perth I have come across so many exotic trees on the streets or in the parks.  Sometimes I even stop for a while and keep looking at them.  Trees here are so big and tall that I feel as if I am being embraced by them.  This is because trees in Osaka are nothing like this!

I quite often see houses which are for sale on the street.  Whenever I see a sign in front of a house which says 'For Sale', I enjoy looking at the pictures of the rooms shown on the signs.

Many houses here are quite old but people often have their kitchen or bathroom nicely renovated.  And I think new kitchens or bathrooms can make old houses look more attractive.

As shown in the sign in the top picture, this house doesn't seem to have been renovated recently, however, I still like how the owner of this house has decorated the bedroom!

正直、日本では樹木を見て心を引きつけられるようなことはありませんでした。でもパースへ来てから、通りや公園でたくさんの異国風な木々を見るようになりました。時々しばらく立ち止まっては、じっと眺めてしまう時さえあります。ここの樹木は非常に大きく、背も高く、下から眺めていると、まるで木にすっぽりと抱かれているかのような気分になるのです。とにかく大阪にある木々とは全然違うので！

あと、通りを歩いていると頻繁に『売家』の看板を目にします。看板にはよく、家の中の写真が載っており、私これを見るのが結構好きです。売り家など関係なく、こちらでは一般的に古い家（１９３０年代のものとか）が多いのですけれど、キッチンやお風呂場などはよく最近になって改装されていたりします。

個人的に思うのですが、古い家に、新しく改装されたキッチンやお風呂場が付いていれば、家に魅力が加わるような感じがします。

上の看板の写真、部屋が写った写真をそれぞれ見てみると、最近改装されていないように見えますが、それでも私はこの家のオーナーの寝室の飾り方は好きです。
